Higginson Heads Back to NCAA Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (5/27/11) - Senior Ashley Higginson is heading back to the NCAA Championships in the steeplechase, the first member of the Princeton women's track & field team to advance to Des Moines, Iowa.
Higginson ran 10:00.07, placing fourth out of 48 and taking second in her heat. She will compete in the national semifinals in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. An All-America in the event, Higginson finished third in the finals last year.
Freshman Imani Oliver tied for fourth in the first flight of the triple jump. She reached 12.23 meters (40-01.50) on her third and final jump to settle her in 28th overall.
Senior Thanithia Billings concluded her career in the shot put. She threw to 14.79 (48-06.25) in her first of three throws to place 31st overall.
Tomorrow, the final day of the East Regional, junior Alex Banfich and sophomore Greta Feldman will compete. Feldman will run the national quarterfinal of the 1500 at 6:30 p.m., after qualifying on Thursday. The top 12 advance to Des Moines.
Banfich will be running in the national semifinal of the 5,000 at 8:05 p.m. The top 12 advance to Des Moines.
