Princeton Basketball Alums Receive Local Honors

A pair of Princeton basketball alumni were honored recently as each received a local award.
Tom Chestnut '70, who lettered with the Tigers in 1969, was inducted into the Capital District (N.Y.) Basketball Hall of Fame on June 25 in a class of 12 players recognized. Chestnut played at Linton High in Schenectady, N.Y., before coming to Princeton. His post-Princeton career took him to Cleveland, where he served as president of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, and to Philadelphia, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia 76ers. Doug Snyder '78 lettered in 1976 and 1977 and won the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Allentown (Pa.) School District as an alumnus of Allen High in Allentown. After his playing career at Princeton, Snyder served as the head coach at Princeton High School before returning to coach his alma mater at Allen in 1997. For more information, click here.
