Craig Moore Leaves to Pursue Pro Career in Romania
July 30, 2011 | Men's Basketball
Princeton volunteer assistant men's basketball coach Craig Moore will step down to pursue his professional playing career in Romania.
Moore will play for Gaz Metan Medias in Divizia A, the top division in Romanian basketball. The team plays in the town of Medias near the center of Romania.
"I'm very excited for Craig and our staff wishes him the best as he pursues his career," Mitch Henderson '98, the Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green '40 head coach of men's basketball, said.
Moore was named to the volunteer assistant coaching position in May, less than a month after Henderson was named head coach. Moore played four seasons for Henderson at Northwestern where Henderson was an assistant coach.
Romania will be the second European stop in Moore's professional career. During the 2009-10 season, Moore played for De Friesland Aris in the Netherlands.
GoPrincetonTigers.com will announce Henderson's choice to fill the volunteer assistant coaching position when that decision has been made.
