Last game's starters:
22 • Chris Clement • G • Jr. • 6-2 • Round Rock, Texas
Has made the first two starts of his career this season.
5 • T.J. Bray • G • Jr. • 6-5 • New Berlin, Wis.
Has averaged 5.5 assists over the first two games.

34 • Ian Hummer • F • Sr. • 6-7 • Vienna, Va.
Had career-high 25 points for the third time in his career Tuesday against Northeastern.
44 • Brendan Connolly • C • Sr. • 6-11 • Brentwood, Tenn.
Went 4 of 6 from the field in the opener at Buffalo Saturday, had only one attempt Tuesday.
Tonight's top notes:
Princeton had 17 assists on 19 made baskets against Buffalo. The Tigers out-assisted the Bulls 17-8 Saturday. Tuesday, Princeton had 13 assists on 26 baskets and was out-assisted by Northeastern 17-13.
Princeton has used the same nine players in each of the first two games. Four of those are non-returners or seeing significantly increased roles from last season. Forward Will Barrett, who has started both games, was injured for the last four months of last season and did not play after Nov. 30. Starting guard Chris Clement had played no more than six minutes in any game against a Division I opponent in either of his first two seasons. Reserve guard Clay Wilson had two field goals in all of his freshman season and has seven already this season. Reserve forward Hans Brase is the only freshman to have played in either of the first two games.
Princeton has attempted at least 22 3-pointers in four straight games dating back to last season. The team had not tried at least 22 3-pointers in four straight games since the pre-conference portion of the 2006-07 season, when it did so in five straight games.
Northeastern's 57.5 percent shooting clip was the best for a Princeton opponent since Evansville shot 59.6 percent in the Tigers' 95-86 shootout win in last season's CBI tournament.
Princeton's opponent has had a better shooting percentage than the Tigers in each of the first two games this season. Princeton had not been outshot by its opponent in back-to-back games since Feb. 4-10, 2012 against Yale and Dartmouth.
Though the sample size is small, Princeton's shooting percentage this year is lower than it was in 2011-12, and its opponents' shooting percentage is higher. The Tigers shot .462 a year ago and are at .409 through two games, and their foes shot .424 a year ago and are at .458 through two games this season.
Princeton is also a little cooler from beyond the arc this season than it was last season. The Tigers are at .283 from downtown through two games this season compared to .376 from long range last season. Princeton's perimeter defense is also not where it was last season, allowing opponents to shoot .591 through two games this season compared to .342 last season.
One place where the Tigers are better this season than last is at the free-throw line. Princeton is shooting .769 through two games this season after making 67.9 percent from the line a year ago. However, the Tigers aren't getting the benefit of as poor of foul shooting by their opponents as they were last year. Princeton's foes are at .795 this season, compared to .654 last season.
Princeton was picked first in the Ivy League preseason poll, getting 16 of 17 first-place votes out of the pool of two media members from each of the eight Ivy markets and one national writer.
Princeton
is aiming for its fourth straight 20-win season, which would be a first
since 1999. A fourth straight postseason appearance would be the first
such time since 2002.
Princeton is looking for double-digit Ivy League wins in four straight years for the first time since 2004.
Princeton
returns three starters from 2011-12, including senior center Brendan Connolly,
senior forward Ian Hummer, and junior guard T.J. Bray. In addition, the
Tigers get back junior forward Will Barrett, who started four of the
eight games in which he played last season before suffering a foot
injury, and senior forward Mack Darrow started 16 games last season as
well.
Princeton returns 11 players who saw game action last season, including
five of the seven players who played in all 32 games last season.
Hummer, a first-team All-Ivy League pick last season who has been picked
by some outside publications as the favorite for Ivy League Player of
the Year, would be the first Ivy League Player of the Year since Brian
Earl in 1999.
Hummer is tied for 12th on the Princeton career scoring list (1,207) with Steve Goodrich '98 and would
move up to second (1,550) if he scores as many points as he did his
junior year (515).
If Hummer duplicated his junior-season point total, he would reach 1,685
points, putting him in 13th place on the all-time Ivy League list. In
the last 10 seasons, only Cornell's Ryan Wittman (2,028) has reached the
1,600-point mark in the Ivy League.
Hummer last season had more points (515) than any Tiger since Brian Taylor in 1972 (676).
If Hummer reaches second on the school scoring list, the No. 2 spot to
Bill Bradley '65 would change twice in two years after staying the same
for 21 years.
After wins against Rutgers the last two years and Florida State last
year, Princeton is looking to defeat a major-conference opponent in
three consecutive seasons for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.
The Tigers have Rutgers and Syracuse on this year's schedule, coming up later this month.
Princeton returns 66 percent of its points from last season, even after
losing the program's second-leading all-time scorer, Douglas Davis '12.
Returning members of the team shot .483 from the field last year, better than the team's overall percentage of .462 last season.
Princeton has won 17 straight Ivy League games at home, the most since the team won 26 in a row from 1996-99.
Princeton will have its first five Ivy League games at home for the
second time in three years. In 2011, the Tigers were able to use the 5-0
start toward a 12-2 Ivy finish.
A year ago, Princeton started with five straight Ivy games on the road
and went 2-3 over that stretch. Princeton won 8 of 9 to close the Ivy
season.
Princeton
played a program-record 32 games last season for the second straight
year, making the quarterfinal of the College Basketball Invitational
last season and the Round of 64 of the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
This year's seniors, now with 68 wins, can chase the winningest classes ever in program history: 1992 (85), 1998 (89), 2000 (92) and 1999 (95). The Class of 1982 was the program's first class with four-year players.
Nearly
43 percent of the team's points last season were scored by members of
the Class of 2013, including Ian Hummer (515), Mack Darrow (223) and
Brendan Connolly (181). In the opener Saturday, the seniors had 35
percent of the points, with 12 from Hummer and eight from Connolly.
Princeton's 465 assists last season were the most since the 1999-2000 Tigers set the program record at 505. The stat began being kept in the mid-1970s.
Against Rutgers:
Princeton has faced Rutgers in every season since the 1996-97 campaign, and the 1995-96 season was the only one the series has missed since 1926.
Last year's victory was Princeton's first at the RAC since 1999. Princeton has not won back-to-back meetings with Rutgers at Jadwin Gym since 1994 and 1997.
Milestones:
Now in 12th place on the all-time Princeton scoring list, Ian Hummer will chip away at the gap between him and 11th place, held by Brian Taylor '84 and the 1,239 points he scored in just two seasons.
Ian Hummer is on pace to stand second in
career scoring and career field goals in program history, behind only
Bill Bradley '65, by the end of this season.
Bradley was a teammate of
Ian Hummer's father Ed Hummer '67 for one varsity season, the run to the
NCAA national semifinal in 1965.
On the program:
Princeton leads the Ivy League with 26 Ivy championships (56 seasons)
and 24 NCAA Tournament appearances (all since 1952).
Mitch
Henderson '98, the team's Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green '40 head
coach, is the 29th man to hold the job and the fourth consecutive
alumnus to do so (John Thompson III '88, Joe Scott '87, Sydney Johnson
'97).
Henderson,
who played in three NCAA Tournaments for Princeton, spent 11 years at
Northwestern under one of his former coaches at Princeton, Bill Carmody,
as an assistant coach.
Princeton is tied for second with Kansas, and behind only North Carolina, in alumni as active Division I head coaches. Eight Tar Heels are roaming the sidelines, while six Jayhawks and these six Tigers are doing so: Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Scott '87 (Denver), Johnson '97 (Fairfield), Henderson '98 (Princeton), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Craig Robinson '83 (Oregon State).
On Rutgers: The Scarlet Knights went on a 17-0 run as part of a larger 31-4 run at the RAC Monday night to overcome an early five-point Sacred Heart lead and come away with a 26-point win ... Wally Judge, a junior who transferred from Kansas State and sat out last season because of the NCAA transfer rules, has been the only Knight with double-figure points in both games so far ... Judge had a double-double last time out against Sacred Heart ... only two players - senior Dane Miller and Judge - have started both games this season for the Knights ... Miller (11.5 ppg), sophomore Eli Carter (11.5 ppg) and Judge (11.0 ppg) are averaging double-figures for the Knights this season ... the Knights last made the NCAA Tournament in 1991 ... Rutgers has struggled even more mightily than Princeton from 3-point range, making 18.5 percent (5 of 27) through two games this season ... the Knights have made 54.3 percent of their 2-point tries this season ... Rutgers is hurting its opponents on the glass, outrebounding their foes 41.5-30.0 this season ... free throws at both ends of the floor haven't been going in at high rates in Rutgers' games this season, as the Knights are shooting .605 from the stripe and their foes are at .593.
