Hummer Named to NABC All-District Team

Ian Hummer, who has scored more points this season than any player in the last 40 years of Princeton basketball, has been selected to the NABC second-team All-District 13.
It is the second straight year for Hummer, a junior, to be named to an NABC all-district team, as he was chosen as a first-teamer a year ago.
While the Tigers will have at least one more game to play this season, Hummer has already scored 501 points in 2011-12, making him the first player since Brian Taylor in 1972 to top the 500 mark. He is at 1,156 points for his career and will need to score just five more points to have the highest three-season total with the program since Taylor had 1,239 points in just two seasons (1970-71, 1971-72).
Hummer stands 13th on the all-time Princeton scoring list and earned first-team All-Ivy League honors this season for the first time in his career.
In addition to leading the team in scoring (16.2 ppg), Hummer is also the team's leading rebounder (7.3 rpg) and shot blocker (37 this season) while coming in second on the team in assists (95) and steals (43).
Hummer was one of 10 players selected to the two All-District 13 teams, which consisted of Ivy and Patriot League players. Honored along with Hummer were first-teamers Mike Muscala of Bucknell, C.J. McCollum of Lehigh, Zack Rosen of Penn, Greg Mangano of Yale and Keith Wright of Harvard, as well as fellow second-teamers Brian Barbour of Columbia, Ella Ellis of Army, Kyle Casey of Harvard and Charles Hinkle of American.
There are 24 NABC districts across the country, and all players named to the all-district teams are now eligible for NABC national honors.
