Men's Basketball Alumni Update: Tigers in Europe

Dan Mavraides '11 is playing in the top Italian league for JuveCaserta, based in the town of Caserta, just outside Naples. He has played in five games and has averaged 8.6 points per game, shooting .538 (14-26) from the field and .455 (5-11) from distance.
Kareem Maddox '11 is playing in the British Basketball League for the Newcastle Eagles. He has played in 15 games, averaging 14.9 points per game while shooting .506 (89-176) from the field. He's close to averaging a double-double at 9.9 rebounds per game.
Douglas Davis '12 played five games in the German Bundesliga for the Walter Tigers in Tubingen, Germany this fall, averaging 3.2 points per game before he was released by the team in early November.
Judson Wallace '05, whom the current Tigers had a chance to visit with in Spain this past summer, is playing for FC Barcelona. Wallace has played in 13 games and is averaging 6.5 points per game while shooting .714 (15-21) from the field and .429 (15-35) from beyond the arc.
Mason Rocca '00 is playing for SAIE3 Bologna in the top Italian league. He has played in 15 games, averaging 5.7 points per contest while shooting .544 (37-68) from the field.
Mavraides and Rocca played against each other on Oct. 28, when Mavraides was with Sidigas Avellino before signing with JuveCaserta in early December. Mavraides started and scored 14 points, while Rocca came off the bench and hit one free throw in an 87-77 win for Mavraides' team. They will have the opportunity to play against each other again, with Mavraides on his new team, on March 11.
