Men's XC Takes on Wisconsin Invite and Hosts Home Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/15/14) - The Princeton men's cross country team takes on the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational as the final tune-up before the Heptagonal Championship on Friday, Oct. 17 in Madison, Wisc. The 8k race is slated for an 11:45 a.m., start.
The rest of the team will stay home and host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18. For more information on the Invitational click on the link at the top of the article.
The Tigers are ranked No. 24 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) poll. Princeton joins 18 other nationally-ranked teams at the high-powered meet. They include: Northern Arizona (3), Portland (5), Syracuse (6), Stanford (7), UCLA (9), Wisconsin (9), Michigan (11), BYU (12), Providence (13), Iona (14), New Mexico (16), Arkansas (17), Florida State (18), Eastern Kentucky (19), Oklahoma (20), Indiana (23), Washington (25) and Minnesota (27).
Princeton has competed in the Wisconsin meet three times in the last four years. The Tigers were 14th out of 45 teams in 2012, claimed fifth place in 2011 and third in 2010.
Competing in Madison will be senior Eddie Owens, Senior Sam Pons, senior Matt McDonald, junior Michael Sublette, sophomore William Paulson and freshemn Wolfgang Beck and Noah Kauppila.
At the 2013 Princeton Invitational, the team finished third on its home course, West Windsor Fields. Owens led Princeton with an 11th-place finish of 24:09. Bertrand, Berger, Sublette and junior Brett Kelly also scored.
