Princeton cross-country All-Access videoThe Princeton men's cross country team has had two weeks to dry off, calm down and refocus on its next challenge.
When last we left the Princeton men's cross country team, Michael Sublette was running the race of his life, Princeton was putting five runners in the top 12 and the Ivy League Heptagonal championship won by the Tigers, all in a driving rainstorm on West Windsor Fields.
For the record Princeton went 2-3-6-7-12 at Heps. Putting names to the numbers, it was Sublette, Sam Pons, Eddie Owens, Matt McDonald and Sam Berger.
Now, 13 days later, Princeton finds itself back at the starting line, this one at Penn State Friday at 1 for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, after the women race at noon. The men's race is a 10K.
The top two teams in each NCAA Regional will advance to the NCAA championship meet, which is Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Ind. There will also be at-large teams selected for the NCAA meet, as well as individuals who will earn spots by being the top four runners among non-qualifying teams.
Princeton is currently ranked fourth in the Region, behind Villanova, Georgetown and Penn State.
Princeton finished second at the Mid-Atlantic Regional last year to earn one of the automatic spots.
