Princeton led by as many as 11 points Saturday at California, but the Tigers endured a second-half scoreless streak that lasted for nearly 10 minutes as the Bears went on a 13-0 run to retake the lead in an eventual 67-57 win. Both teams shot at least 60 percent in the first half, but the Tigers cooled off after the break more than the Bears did, shooting 34.8 percent to 41.9 percent for Cal in the final 20 minutes. Sixteen turnovers to Cal's nine also hampered the Tigers' efforts. |

• Princeton and Lipscomb have never met on the basketball court. The Tigers have played just one game against an Atlantic Sun team at the time of the game, but that team isn't in the A-Sun any longer and the conference wasn't called the Atlantic Sun at that point. Princeton beat then-Trans America Athletic Conference member Arkansas-Little Rock, 59-56, in a Michigan State-hosted tournament on Dec. 29, 1989. The Trojans, just a couple years ahead of current Knicks coach Derek Fisher being on the squad (1992-96), left for the Sun Belt Conference in 1991.
• Lipscomb will be just the second team from Tennessee to play the Princeton men's team in Jadwin Gym. Vanderbilt visited once, on Dec. 21, 1985, defeating the Tigers 49-44.
• This will be Lipscomb's first-ever game against an Ivy League opponent.
• Lipscomb stands eighth of the eight Atlantic Sun teams in 3-point FG pctg. defense at .416. Princeton, which takes 46.3 percent of its field goal tries (compared to 32 percent for its opponents) from 3-point range, shoots .377 from 3. The Bisons also allow an A-Sun-high 77.5 ppg, higher than the 64.8 ppg Princeton averages scoring. Lipscomb is No. 2 in its conference in scoring at 72.6 ppg, ahead of the 68.5 ppg Princeton allows.
• Princeton has been outrebounded in three straight games and hasn't been outrebounded in more than three straight games since a five-game stretch in Nov.-Dec. 2010. The Tigers will look to break that skid against a Lipscomb team that has a rebounding disadvantage of 3.2 rpg.
• Through Tuesday's games, Princeton was first in the Ivy in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.1 helpers for each giveaway. The team was also first in the Ivy in 3-pointers per game at 8.6.
• Princeton and Yale are the only two schools with two players in the top 10 in the league in scoring. Spencer Weisz (13.3 ppg) is eighth, and Hans Brase (13.0) is tied for ninth.
• Princeton has not held an opponent below 40 percent shooting in any of the last seven games. The Tigers have shot at least 40 percent seven times this season and is 3-4 in those games.
• Princeton's top five scorers are non-seniors, with sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, freshman Amir Bell and sophomores Steven Cook and Pete Miller. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• The Tigers' youth movement is in full effect. Princeton has started one junior (Hans Brase), three sophomores (Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz, Steven Cook) and one freshman (Amir Bell) in each of the last seven games. Over the first four games this season, seniors averaged 48.3 minutes per game. In the last seven games, the seniors have collectively played no more than 28 minutes.
• Of Princeton's 713 points so far, 629, or 88 percent, have been scored by non-seniors. Princeton's top five scorers on per-game average are non-seniors, and four of those are freshmen or sophomores (Weisz, Cook, Miller, Bell).
• Spencer Weisz is leading the team in scoring at 13.3 ppg. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• Through Tuesday's games, only nine teams in the nation had made more 3-pointers than Princeton, which has hit 95 threes. That was Princeton's highest national ranking, with its 13-th most 252 3FG attempts close behind.
• Princeton, Youngstown State, Oakland and American were the only schools in the nation with two or more players in the top 20 in minutes played, through Tuesday's games. Spencer Weisz was ninth in the nation and No. 1 in the Ivy with 396 minutes, and Hans Brase was 20th with 381 minutes, second in the Ivy.
• Princeton coach Mitch Henderson is presently ninth on the program's all-time wins list, but seventh place isn't far off. He's now at 61 wins, behind predecessor Sydney Johnson (66) and John Thompson III (68). Both are fellow Tiger alumni, Johnson (head coach from 2007-11) in the Class of 1997 and Thompson (head coach from 2000-04) in the Class of 1988.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Lipscomb was picked third, behind FGCU and North Florida, in the Atlantic Sun preseason media and coaches poll. The Bisons' Martin Smith and J.C. Hampton were two of 10 preseason all-conference picks, Smith a unanimous selection.
• Lipscomb began transitioning to Division I in 1999 and first played a majority Division I schedule in the 2001-02 season. The team became an Atlantic Sun member for the 2003-04 campaign. The program was an NAIA member through 2000.
• Lipscomb coach Casey Alexander is in his second year with Lipscomb after going 15-15 overall and 10-8 in the A-Sun in his first year with the team. A longtime assistant at his alma mater and Lipscomb's Nashville rival Belmont, Alexander was the head coach at Stetson for two seasons before coming to Lipscomb.
• Eight Bisons players have started a game this season and only one, Josh Williams, has started all 11 games. Williams, a 6-5 sophomore guard, has played double-figure minutes and has scored double-figure points in every game this year.
• The first two of Lipscomb's four wins this season came against non-Division I opponents, but the Bisons went on to pick up wins over in-state foes Tennessee State and Austin Peay earlier this month. The team saw that winning run end with a stop at Texas, ranked ninth in both the AP and Coaches' polls, which saw Lipscomb fall 106-61 Tuesday night.
• Lipscomb is 0-3 when not reaching 68 points and 4-3 when it does. The Bisons are 4-0 when holding teams to 70 points or fewer but 0-6 when teams reach 71.
• Lipscomb sophomore guard J.C. Hampton played between 14 and 32 minutes and scored between 3 and 13 points in each of the team's first eight games but missed the Austin Peay contest two games ago and was held to two points in 20 minutes at Texas last time out.
• Bisons senior forward Martin Smith played between 25 and 34 minutes while scoring between 6 and 21 points in each of the team's first six games but missed three of the last four contests and scored seven points in 15 minutes of action against Austin Peay.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his third season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 61-40. Under Henderson, Princeton is 32-9 at home, 28-14 in the Ivy League, and 18-3 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 48-13 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in ninth place on the Princeton all-time wins list, with predecessor Sydney Johnson '97 in eighth with 66 wins over four seasons. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). Prior to Princeton, Henderson coached at Northwestern for 11 seasons under his final head coach at Princeton, Bill Carmody, from 2000-11. |
