Bray '14 Makes Toronto Raptors' NBA Summer League Roster
July 07, 2014 | Men's Basketball
Princeton alumnus T.J. Bray '14 had a workout with the Toronto Raptors on June 19, and the NBA's lone Canadian franchise liked what it saw, including Bray on its 15-man roster for the upcoming NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
It's the second straight year a Princeton alum has taken part in an NBA team's summer league process after Ian Hummer '13 was in summer league camp with the Los Angeles Lakers a year ago. This year's Las Vegas summer league event will run from July 11-21.
All teams in the Las Vegas summer league will play a minimum of five games, with the first three games listed below and the other two, or more, in a playoff format.
Bray was a first-team All-Ivy League honoree in 2013-14, leading the Tigers in scoring (18.0 ppg), steals (34), assists (118), field goal percentage (.537) and free throws made (112) while standing second on the team in 3-pointers made (52) and third in rebounds per game (4.8). Bray became the 30th career 1,000-point scorer in Princeton history last season, and he finished with the third-most assists in a Princeton career at 374 in a stat that has been kept since the 1974-75 season. Bray is the only Princeton player on record with three 100-assist seasons, topping out with 133 this past season as the third-most in a single campaign since the stat began being kept 40 years ago.
Information on the Raptors' NBA Summer League schedule and roster is below. At least the first two games will be televised live on NBA TV. The team will begin practice Tuesday, July 8 in Las Vegas for three days of workouts before games begin.
