• For the second year in a row, Princeton and Rider will get their seasons started with a showdown between Mercer County's two Division I programs. Last year in Jadwin Gym, Princeton outlasted Rider 64-58. Rider last led 49-47 with six minutes to go before Princeton went on an 11-1 run over three-plus minutes to take control. Princeton got to the line 20 times to just four for Rider, going 17-20 from the stripe (.850) to the Broncs' 2-4 (.500).
• Princeton has won three straight openers, defeating Rider, Florida A&M and Buffalo the last three years. Princeton last won four straight openers from the 1989-90 season through the 1992-93 season.
• Princeton is the only team in the Ivy to return all five starters from last year, with Spencer Wesiz, Hans Brase, Steven Cook, Amir Bell and Pete Miller each starting at least 23 games while no other player started more than six.
• Princeton's .463 shooting clip from the field was its best to end a season since the 2010-11 campaign, when the Tigers shot .465 at season's end. Princeton's opponents' .437 percent clip from the field was also the highest since the 2007-08 season as the Tigers look to improve on the defensive end this season.
• Princeton took nearly 46 percent of its field goal attempts from beyond the arc last season, making 37.7 percent. That percentage was better than the team's 35.9 percent clip from the 2013-14 season.
• Princeton will be making its second-ever visit to Rider's Alumni Gym. The only other trip was on Dec. 14, 2011, a game that saw Princeton take a lead as large as 14 points before Rider roared back and sent the game to overtime. Princeton won 72-71 on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Mack Darrow '13.
• Rider returns four of its five starters from last season's game, all except Matt Lopez. The Broncs bring back 47 of their 58 points from last year's game while Princeton returns 52 of its 58. Class of '15 members Ben Hazel (nine) and Clay Wilson (three) had the other 12.
• Princeton ended last season leading the Ivy League in scoring (68.9 ppg), field goal percentage (.463) and. 3-point field goal percentage (.377).
• Last year's seniors accounted for 16.7 percent of points and 18.4 percent of the minutes in 2014-15.
• In 59 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 53 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.

• Rider was 15-5 in the MAAC last season and earned the second seed in the MAAC tournament but was tripped up by St. Peter's in the quarterfinals. The Broncs went into the 16-team College Basketball Invitational but fell to Loyola (Ill.) in the first round.

| Mitch Henderson '98 begins his fifth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 74-46. Under Henderson, Princeton is 41-11 at home, 37-19 in the Ivy League, and 23-5 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 58-16 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first four campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Leuhring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in seventh place on the Princeton all-time wins list. Bill Carmody, who was a Princeton assistant for Henderson's first two seasons and head coach for Henderson's last two, is in sixth place with 92 wins. Carmody hired Henderson as an assistant coach at Northwestern in 2000, where Henderson remained for 11 seasons until coming to Princeton. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). |
