Senior Trio Caps Jadwin Careers With Wins In 9-0 Sweep Of Columbia
February 07, 2015 | Women's Squash
The win moved Princeton to 9-2 on the season; the Tigers can hit the double-digit win mark Sunday afternoon during the regular season finale at Cornell. A victory would likely assure the Tigers the fourth seed at the Howe Cup national championships, which will be held the following weekend at Harvard.
Lunt and Dewey were part of the first shift, which saw Princeton race out to a 4-0 lead. Joining the senior duo early was reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year Maria Elena Ubina, who stayed undefeated on the season with a 3-0 win at the No. 2 position, and reigning CSA Player of the Week Kira Keating, who dropped only seven points in her win at the eighth spot.
The second shift was more of the same for Princeton, as all five players won by 3-0 scores. Bunyan won all three of her games by 3-0 scores, while freshman No. 1 player Olivia Fiechter closed her win with an 11-1 victory.
Junior Tara Harrington was pushed by Leah Barnet at the No. 7 spot, but she had the late answers in an 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 victory. Rachel Leizman and Gabriella Garr also earned wins during the Tiger sweep.
