Princeton outshot and outrebounded Cornell and got to the line 18 more times than the Big Red, with the turnover stat about the only one holding Princeton back in Friday night's win. The Tigers turned the ball over 16 times to eight for Cornell but trailed only briefly in the first half while taking the lead into double figures after the break. |

• Princeton will honor the 1965 Final Four team at halftime of Saturday's game. The Tigers were the first Ivy team to make the men's basketball Final Four and finished 23-6 that year, setting what was then a program wins record. The team still holds season records for points 2,311 points, field goals at 882, free throws made at 545, and rebounds at 1,334.
• Saturday will be senior night for Princeton's four seniors, Daniel Edwards, Bobby Garbade, Ben Hazel and Clay Wilson. Edwards and Hazel were part of the 2010-11 Ivy League championship team, the last two active Tigers from that squad as both missed the 2012-13 season. The four have combined to appear in 253 games and score 765 points.
• A win Saturday would guarantee that Princeton has not only a winning Ivy record but a top-three finish in the league for the seventh straight year. Princeton is the only team to finish in the top three in the league in each of the last six years, and such an outcome would also put Harvard, Yale and Princeton as the top three teams for the third straight year, the first time since 1977-79 (Penn, Princeton, Columbia) that the same three clubs would have held the top three spots (or tied) for three straight years.
• At 14-14, Princeton will need to win out in order to keep its overall winning-season streak alive. Princeton has a five-year streak of winning seasons, the co-longest in the Ivy alongside Harvard, which had an even record in 2009 while Princeton was one game under. The Tigers stand at 7-5 in the Ivy, and Princeton's six-year streak of winning Ivy seasons is the longest active in the league, one longer than Harvard's streak.
• The Tigers are the only team in the Ivy that can return all five starters next season, as defined by the five players with the most starts for each team this season. Princeton's seniors had accounted for 15.9 percent of the team's points entering the weekend, the second-lowest percentage in the Ivy and higher than only Penn, at 10.7 percent. The other six percentages, in ascending order, are Brown (19.5), Dartmouth (23.4), Columbia (24.5), Yale (46.5), Harvard (51.9) and Cornell (62.9).
• Amir Bell enters Saturday second on the team in assists, with 71, five behind Spencer Weisz. If Bell finishes the season leading the team in assists, he'd be the first freshman to lead the team in that category since 2006-07, when Marcus Schroeder '10 had a team-best 87 helpers.
• Bell is drawing closer to Spencer Weisz's point total of 262 from last season, entering the Columbia game with 254. If Bell passes 262, he'd be Princeton's highest-scoring freshman since Douglas Davis '12 scored 333 points in 2008-09. Between Bell and Davis are Weisz, Brian Earl '99 (268), Sydney Johnson '97 (273) and John Smyth '86 (319). Only two freshmen scored more than Davis, Spencer Gloger '05 (336) and Chris Young '02 (387).
• The Tigers take 46 percent of their field goal tries from beyond the arc and have taken 630 total 3-point attempts this year. A year ago, Princeton rolled past the previous record of 681, set by Mitch Henderson's senior-year team in 1998, hoisting 774 3s last season.
• The change in year has been a positive change for the Tigers during Mitch Henderson's tenure. In the pre-New Year portion of Henderson's four seasons, the Tigers have a record of 27-25 for a .519 winning percentage. From New Year's Day forward, the Tigers under Henderson are 45-21 with a .682 winning percentage.
• Princeton has won 12 straight March home games, last losing one on Mar. 11, 2008 to Penn.
• This is the latest Cornell and Columbia will play in Jadwin since 2008, the last time the New York Ivies came to Jadwin in March. Since 1957, Princeton is 22-1 in March home games against Columbia and Cornell, with the only loss coming to the Big Red in 2008.
• At Columbia a month ago, the Tigers shot 54 percent against the Lions and limited Columbia to 42 percent shooting while Princeton turned the ball over just six times to Columbia's nine. The result was a 74-62 win, Princeton's sixth straight at Columbia.
• Columbia won last year in Jadwin for the first time since 1993. Princeton had a hot first half at 57 percent but went cold after the break, shooting 33 percent. Columbia essentially had the reverse, shooting 33 percent before the break and 50 percent after. Princeton led by as much as 13 but Columbia caught the Tigers at 37 with 14-plus minutes to play. Princeton still led by five with two minutes to go, but the last six points were Columbia's on 3s by Isaac Cohen and Meiko Lyles as Princeton had three missed shots and a turnover in the final two minutes.
• Princeton leads the Ivy in field goal percentage (.458), 3-point FG percentage (.375), and defensive rebounding percentage (.741).
• Princeton's usual starting lineup of late includes no seniors, but junior Hans Brase, sophomores Steven Cook, Spencer Weisz and Henry Caruso, and freshman Amir Bell. The five Columbia players with the most starts include a senior (Cory Osetkowski), two juniors (Isaac Cohen, Maodo Lo), a sophomore (Chris McComber) and a freshman (Kyle Castlin).
• Through Friday's games, Princeton ranked 25th in the nation in 3s per game at 8.4. The team ranked in the national top 100 in six statistical categories, with its next-highest ranking at 39th in total 3-pointers made at 236. Between them, Hans Brase, Pete Miller, Spencer Weisz and Steven Cook were included in the national rankings (approximately the national top 250 players in each category) nine times. Hans Brase had the highest ranking, at 38th in defensive rebounds per game (6.2).
• Four of Princeton's top five scorers on average are non-seniors, including sophomore Spencer Weisz, junior Hans Brase, sophomore Steven Cook, and freshman Amir Bell, with sophomore Pete Miller 0.5 ppg behind senior Clay Wilson for fifth. The last time the Tigers finished the season with no seniors among the top five in scoring was 2009-10, when sophomore Douglas Davis, junior Dan Mavraides, freshman Ian Hummer, junior Kareem Maddox and sophomore Patrick Saunders were in the top five.
• While seniors Ben Hazel and Clay Wilson are regular rotation players, seniors have accounted for just 17.9 percent of minutes and 16.4 percent of the points this season on the whole.
• Sophomore Spencer Weisz is leading the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg, 0.8 ppg in front of junior Hans Brase. The last sophomore (or younger) to end the season leading the team in scoring was in the 2009-10 season when Douglas Davis '12 averaged 12.7 ppg. Since: Kareem Maddox '11 in 2010-11, Ian Hummer '13 in 2011-12 and 2012-13, and T.J. Bray '14 in 2013-14.
• In 58 Ivy League seasons, Princeton has posted 52 winning Ivy seasons, four 7-7 finishes and just two losing records.
![]() |
• Columbia leads the Ivy in 3s per game at 8.6 (though Princeton leads in total 3s at 236), and Maodo Lo is the league's top scorer at 17.7 ppg. Lo also leads the Ivy in 3s made, with 70 and 2.7 per game, and Isaac Cohen has the Ivy's top assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.6.
• If Lo finishes the season atop the league in scoring (he's 2.0 ppg in front of Harvard's Wes Saunders and Yale's Justin Sears in conference-only scoring, which is what's used to determine the Ivy scoring champ), it'd be the second straight year a Columbia player led the league in scoring, which Alex Rosenberg did last year.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his fourth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 72-46. Under Henderson, Princeton is 40-11 at home, 35-19 in the Ivy League, and 22-5 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 57-16 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first three campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Luehring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in seventh place on the Princeton all-time wins list, having surpassed John Thompson III '88 with the win over Brown on Feb. 13, 2014. Bill Carmody, who was a Princeton assistant for Henderson's first two seasons and head coach for Henderson's last two, is in sixth place with 92 wins. Carmody hired Henderson as an assistant coach at Northwestern in 2000, where Henderson remained for 11 seasons until coming to Princeton. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, current San Diego Padre Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). |
