BOX SCORE
TROY, N.Y. (1/9/16) - The Princeton women's hockey team skated to a 3-2 win at Rensselaer on Saturday afternoon to sweep its road weekend at Union/Rensselaer. The Tigers conclude the fall semester on a 10-game winning streak.
Just after Kiersten Falck stepped out of the penalty box she got right into the play and helped disloge a puck off the boards. Freshman Keiko DeClerck got it and sent it down the right wall as she went on for a line change, and it was taken deep in the corner by Kelsey Koelzer. She made a great pass to Jaimie McDonell in the slot for the one-timer and the first goal of the game:

Molly Contini expanded on the lead in the second period, as everyone got involved in the end-to-end play before the junior finished it off.

A tic-tac-toe goal from Koelzer to Karlie Lund and put away by Tucker would prove to be the eventual game winner

Rensselaer tried to muster a third-period comeback and got within one, scoring two goals. Katie Rooney put the Engineers on the board at 3:25 before a Makenna Thomas power-play goal at 16:30. The Red & White tried to pulled netmider Lovisa Selandar for the try to get the tying goal but only managed a single shot on goal before drawing a penalty.
Senior Kimberly Newell made 19 saves in the game, including 10 in the final period to earn her 11th victory of the season.
Selander had to make 31 saves, as Princeton outshot RPI 34-21 in the game.
The Tigers were 1 for 4 on the power play and 2 for 3 on the penalty kill.
Princeton (15-4-1, 9-4-1 ECAC) will take a break for first semester exams and break and returns to action with a non-conference game at Connecticut on Monday, Jan 25.
