EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton skated to matching 2-2 ties with Providence, a team receiving votes in the national poll, during opening weekend. The Tigers themselves are now receiving votes in the national poll. Sophomore Carly Bullock, the ECAC Rookie of the Year, leads the nation in goals per game, with three in two games. Her linemate junior Karlie Lund, the 2016 ECAC Rookie of the Year, has assisted on two of the goals. Seven other skaters have a single point. The ECAC Goaltender of the Year, sophomore Stephanie Neatby has a .946 save percentage and a 1.85 goals against average, making 70 saves of 74 shots. Princeton's penalty kill was a perfect 10 for 10 last weekend, to currently rank first in the nation, while its special teams overall are fourth in the nation at 61.1 percent.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard is 1-0 with a league victory under its belt over Dartmouth from last weekend. The Crimson has four different goal scorers, including a tally from senior Lexie Laing. Laing was the team's leading scorer a year ago with 21 points, and is the sister of former Tiger Denna Laing '14. Half of the team's goals have come from its power-play unit, going 2 for 6 against the Big Green last Friday. Sophomore Beth Larcom, who played in eight games last year, and is the only goaltender with playing experience on the squad started against Dartmouth. She made 23 saves on 24 shots.
THE PRINCETON/HARVARD SERIES
Harvard has a 47-33-4 edge in the all-time series with Princeton, though Princeton has the better record when playing at Hobey Baker Rink, 18-7-3. The Tigers have won four of the last five meetings to snap an eight-game losing skid in the series. Last year Princeton took a 2-1 game in overtime in Cambridge thanks to Julia Edgar's first career goal. In Princeton, three months later the Tigers took another 2-1 win with two goals in the third period.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Under interim head coach Joe Marsch, longtime St. Lawrence men's hockey coach, the Big Green are 0-2 after opening with a 4-1 league game at Harvard before falling 6-1 at UNH. Dartmouth is on the road for its first four games, followed by a nine-game homestand that extends the entire month of November and December. Both of Dartmouth's goals has been scored on the power-play by junior defender Caroline Shaunessy. The Big Green lost a huge chunk of its scoring, 49 percent, with the loss of five skaters due to graduation including it's top two from last year. Also gone is goaltender Robyn Chemago who has been the starting tender for the last three seasons. This year it's junior Christie Honor in net. She played in six games last year and has both decisions this year with a .860 save percentage and a 5.69 GAA. Backing her up is junior Shannon Ropp.
THE PRINCETON/DARTMOUTH SERIES
Princeton holds a 43-32-6 lead in the all-time series with Dartmouth and has had the upper hand lately with a 6-1-1 record. Last year the Big Green surprised the Tigers in overtime 3-2 after Princeton held a 47-25 shot advantage up in Hanover in November. Princeton answered back with a 4-0 shutout in January with freshmen defender Claire Thompson picking up a three-assist game - and again the Tigers had a big advantage in shots 44-10.
