USA Field Hockey Release
PRINCETON, N.J. – Cat Caro '17 has been named to the United States National Team, the team announced today effective December 1st.
Caro had originally been on the national development squad before the announcement today. She is the second Tiger alum on the team, joining Kathleen Sharkey '13.
"We are excited for Cat and the opportunity in front of her," said Princeton head coach Carla Tagliente. "She has worked extremely hard over the last 18 months to put herself in this position. She has gone from the U21 team to the Junior World Cup to working herself through a pretty devastating injury to having the opportunity to represent her country at the highest level. This is a testament to her resiliency and her character. We are thrilled for her and excited to watch her and the team as they prepare for the World Cup this summer."
Caro ended her Princeton career in impressive fashion as she was selected as first-team All-America, first-team Mid-Atlantic Region and Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year. She had a personal-high 18 goals and 47 points. She registered a point in 15 of the team's 19 games and finished the season eighth in the country in goals (.95) and 13th in points per game (2.26). Her standout performances include back-to-back hat tricks vs. Brown (Oct. 15) and Towson (Oct. 16). The two-time captain was remarkable against Ivy opponents, averaging over three points per contest with nine goals and four assists.
The former captain finished her career with three All-Ivy accolades, two All-Region honors and her first All-American award.
