Myles Stephens Named GPT Coach USA Athlete Of The Week
March 13, 2017 | Men's Basketball
There hardly needed to be a vote, and there wasn't any drama prior to the announcement as it came time to name a Most Valuable Player of the first-ever Ivy League men's basketball tournament this past weekend.
It had to be Myles Stephens.
The Princeton sophomore scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds in the 72-64 semifinal win over Penn and then came back with 23 more - a career-high - and eight more rebounds in the 71-59 win over Yale in the championship game. Stephens also played with the usual intensity and effectiveness on the other end of the court, as would befit the Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Year.
For his performance, Myles Stephens is the goprincetontigers.com/Coach USA Athlete of the Week.
Stephens, a first-team All-Ivy selection as well, helps lead Princeton into the NCAA tournament Thursday in Buffalo against Notre Dame. Tip-off is at 12:15 on CBS.
