Weisz Earns AP Honorable Mention All-America
March 28, 2017 | Men's Basketball
Spencer Weisz, the 2017 Ivy League Player of the Year who helped lead the Princeton men's basketball team to an undefeated Ivy League season, the inaugural Ivy League Tournament title and within two points of No. 14-ranked and fifth-seeded Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, has been named an Associated Press honorable mention All-America.
Weisz is the first Tiger since Ian Hummer '13, the 2013 Ivy Player of the Year, to be an AP All-America.
Weisz finished his career as the only player in program history with 1,000 career points, 500 career rebounds, 300 career assists and 200 career 3-pointers. His 1,241 points are 12th-most in program history, his 605 rebounds are eighth-most, his 383 assists are second most, and his 209 3-pointers are fifth-most.
This season, Weisz was one of two Tigers, along with classmate Steven Cook, to start all 30 games, and he led the team with 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. His 10.6 points per game were fourth on the team.
