Forbes' Community Efforts Earn Spirit of Princeton Award
May 12, 2017 | Men's Basketball
Princeton junior Jackson Forbes was selected as one of eight Spirit of Princeton Award honorees on behalf of his community service efforts.
Forbes and the honorees were recognized at a Wednesday dinner where they were presented with a book prize and a certificate.
The architecture major and his seven fellow winners were chosen from a pool of more than 80 nominees from across the student body. He is an officer on the Varsity Student Athlete-Advisory Council, was the associate director of the Water and Beverage Student Agency, and participated in a project called Tiger Challenge, where he employed the principles of design thinking to engineer a program to facilitate the acquisition of self-knowledge for students.
On the court, Forbes has played in 31 games over his three seasons. During his sophomore campaign, he helped Princeton hold off Saint Peter's in the first game in Dillon Gym in 38 years, hitting three 3-pointers in a 75-72 win. Forbes played in eight games this past season as the Tigers rolled up a perfect 14-0 Ivy League record, won the inaugural Ivy League Tournament and took No. 14 Notre Dame to the final possession in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
