July 18, 2017 | Men's Basketball
Steven Cook '17, Alexander Lee '17 and rising senior Aaron Young were named to the NABC Honors Court, the coaches organization announced Tuesday when revealing the list of juniors and seniors to earn the academic honor.
The full list is available here. Princeton, which won the 2017 Ivy League regular-season and tournament titles and took ACC Tournament finalist Notre Dame to the final possession in the NCAA Tournament, earned the NABC's team academic honor last week.
Cook, an economics major, was also a first-team All-Ivy Leaguer on the court and an Allstate NABC Good Works Team member and CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America honoree, recognition that combines on-court stats with academic achievement and, in case of the Good Works Team, community service work. Cook was the team's leading scorer on the season at 13.6 points per game.
Lee, an economics major who competed with the team in his first full varsity season in 2016-17, competed in four games and earned his first career start on senior night against Dartmouth. He went 2 for 3 from the field last November against Rowan and scored his final collegiate points with a bucket against the Big Green.
Young, a politics major, had his highlight game of the season against Liberty in December, going 6 for 9 from 3-point range for a career-high 18 points. Young played in 27 of Princeton's 30 games on the season.
