Early Ivy League Test for Tigers on Friday at HYP
September 13, 2017 | Women's Cross Country
The Princeton women's cross country team will get an early test of Ivy League competition when it competes in the annual Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet on Friday, Sept. 15. The race begins at 4:15 p.m., on The Course at Yale.
The Tigers began the season last weekend by sending its middle distance crew to race at the Fordham Fiasco in Van Cortlandt Park. The squad took second before a second-place finish by senior Madison Offstein.
Princeton was third at HYP last year when it hosted the meet and won the meet the last time it was held at Yale in 2014. Princeton strung together nine consecutive HYP wins including that 2014 victory.
This will be the first meet of the season for Yale, while Harvard lost a dual race with Boston College two weeks ago despite its national ranking.
Princeton is ranked No. 7 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region poll.
