Hanover, N.H. – Fresh off a victory over No. 10 Maryland, the No. 17 Princeton Tigers head on the road this weekend to begin Ivy League play at Dartmouth (Sat., 12 p.m.) before a trip at the No. 24 Boston University Terriers (Sun., 2 p.m.).
What's Going On?
- Behind a season-best seven saves from Grace Baylis and tallies from Ryan McCarthy and Clara Roth, Princeton took down No. 10 Maryland, 2-1, at the Maryland Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex on Tuesday evening.
- The Tigers made the most of the first scoring threat as McCarthy ripped a hard shot just inside the circle into the back of the cage. She leads the team with four goals this season and 18 in the last two years.
- In front, 2-1, Baylis made perhaps her most impressive save of the season as she sprawled out and used her blocker again as Maryland was awarded corner with 4:24 to go in the meeting.
- Princeton is 28-7-1 vs. Dartmouth all-time. The Tigers have won the last five meetings and has lost just twice to the Big Green since 1989.
- Dartmouth opened the series history with a 5-2-2 record against Princeton.
- The Tigers have not lost in Hanover since 2011, winning the last two contests. Prior to that, the Big Green last won at home against Princeton in 1984. Princeton is 13-4-1 on the road against Dartmouth.
- The Tigers took 33 shots and forced Dartmouth's goalie Emma Plumb to make 15 saves in the 4-0 Princeton victory.
- Cat Caro '17 had two goals and was one of 13 players to take a shot.
- Jane Donio-Enscoe had her first tally of the season and took six shots on goal to lead Princeton.
- Carlotta von Gierke registered her first career points with three assists.
- Dartmouth is 2-4 on the season with victories over Rider and Bryant.
- The Big Green's one common opponent so far with Princeton is Delaware. Dartmouth fell 9-1 to the Blue Hens.
- Katie Spanos leads the team with five assists and 11 points. She is tied with Gemma Bautista for the team-high in goals (three).
- 10 different Big Green have scored this season.
- Princeton is 9-3 all-time vs. Boston University. The two teams last met in 2005.
- The Tigers won seven of the first eight matchups against Boston.
- The two squads have split the last four contests.
- Princeton is 3-2 in Boston, last winning in 2003.
- Holly Wiles scored four minutes into overtime to lift 19th-ranked Boston University to a 2-1 overtime win over Princeton. The Tigers' Paige Schmidt scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the loss.
- Schmidt began the scoring in the game when her blast off a penalty corner beat BU goalkeeper Erin Prediger 15 minutes into the game. Senior Hillary Schmidt assisted on the goal.
- The Terriers are 4-3 on the season and are currently on three-game losing streak.
- Boston has defeated Bryant, New Hampshire, Ball State and Miami of Ohio.
- Miya Denison and Ailsa Connolly leads the Terriers with three goals each.
- Boston has split goalie duties between Kathleen Keegan and Millie Baker. The two have combined to post a 2.14 GAA and 25 saves.

- The Tigers have 10 nationally ranked teams on their schedule.
- Seven of the team's first eight games come against ranked opponents. The first weekend for Princeton without a top-25 opponent comes Oct. 14-15 when it travels to Brown and Northeastern.
- No. 1 UConn (Oct. 8) is the last ranked squad to appear at Bedford Field.
- The Tigers went 12-8 in 2016 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the ninth straight season, receiving the program's first at-large bid to the tournament.
- One of the greatest moments in program history, Sophia Tornetta laced a laced a shot into the back of the cage as time expired to send the Tigers to the Final Four for the first time since 2012 with a 3-2 victory over No. 7 Virginia.
- No. 8 Delaware ended Princeton's season in the national semifinals as Esmee Peet scored the game-winner with 1:30 remaining, giving the Blue Hens a 3-2 decision. Delaware would go on to win the national championship.
- The Tigers had five players selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region teams. Caro and Ryan McCarthy were picked for the all-region first team while Maddie Bacskai, Tornetta and Elise Wong were honored with second team accolades.
- Caro topped off her fabulous senior season with a Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division I All-America First Team accolade. She had a personal-high 18 goals and 47 points.
