Desrosiers Earns Ivy League Rookie of the Week Honor

Following a Ivy weekend sweep for the team, Princeton freshman Jerome Desrosiers has earned recognition as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.

With the help of Desrosiers' 12 points against Columbia and 14 against Cornell, Princeton defeated each by double digits, extending the team's Ivy League home winning streak to 21 games, the best since a 21-game run from 2010-13.

Desrosiers had his first double-figure scoring game as a Tiger on Dec. 25 at Hawai'i, scoring 10 points. He nearly had another the next time out with eight at Penn on Jan. 6 before following it up with the two games last weekend. Over the last four games, while averaging 11.0 points a contest, Desrosiers raised his scoring average from 3.5 to 5.5 points per game.

It's Desrosiers' first Ivy weekly honor and the second of the season for the Tigers, along with Sebastian Much's on Dec. 18. It's the first time two Tigers have earned the Ivy weekly rookie honor in the same season since Amir Bell and Aaron Young won in the 2014-15 season.

Desrosiers and the Tigers will be away from competition for first-semester finals until Jan. 28 when Rowan comes to Jadwin. The Ivy schedule will resume Feb. 2 and 3 with visits from Yale and Brown.
