The Princeton men's track & field team returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 6 in its annual meet with Navy. The dual will be held at Wesley A. Brown Field House, with field events beginning at 11 a.m., and track events at noon.
Last year the Tigers won 15 of 18 events and outscored the Midshipmen 105-75, to extend its edge in the series 24-22 with wins in the the last dual meets. The last time the Mids came out on top was a 94-87 win in 2014.
Carrington Akosa took the spotlight with a PR of 48.85 to win the 400. In the shorter sprints,
Charlie Volker and
Josh Freeman both claimed wins, in the 60 and 200.
Franklin Aririguzoh won a tight 800 race by eight hundredths of a second and
Noah Kauppila and Zachary Albright followed with victories in the 1,000 and the mile.
Xavier Bledsoe cleared 2.14 to take the high jump, while
August Kiles cleared 5.11 to win the pole vault.
Greg Leeper jumped 6.88 to win the long jump and
Stefan Amokwandoh found 15.02 in his triple jump victory. Princeton also won both throws with Chris Cook in the shot and
Adam Kelly in the weight.
