PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 3 Maryland Terrapins rallied to take down the No. 5 Princeton Tigers, 5-4, in double overtime at Bedford Field on Tuesday evening.

Clara Roth recorded her fifth career multi-goal game, finishing with five points. Julianna Tornetta and Jane Donio-Enscoe also scored in the contest while Princeton posted three defensive saves in the loss.

It took the Terrapins just 96 seconds to get the offense going as Kyler Greenwalt registered the first goal. Off a turnover, Madison Maguire found Greenwalt, who dribbled into the circle and blasted one into the cage.

Roth showed off her speed as she raced down the left side of the field, stopped on a dime, circled around and ripped the ball past the Maryland goalie in the seventh minute.

The sophomore picked up her second tally of the night in impressive fashion off a high deflection. Hannah Davey whipped the ball towards the left of the cage and Roth knocked the shot going high in.

Annabeth Donovan kept the Tigers in front, 2-1, as the clock ticked under 12 minutes. On a rebound attempt, Greenwalt lifted the ball past Grace Baylis, but Donovan was there to block the ball from going over the line.

Roth snagged her fifth point of the night as she slid a pass to Jane Donio-Enscoe, who had a 1v1 with the goalie and got the ball by to make the score 3-1 Princeton.

Princeton tacked on to its lead nine minutes into the second half as Julianna Tornetta executed a penalty stroke.

Following a yellow card on Princeton, Maryland's offensive output picked up. Kelee Lepage gave the Terrapins their second goal on a rebound shot in the 50th minute.

MaryKate Neff earned her second defensive save in a minute as the Terrapins secured another corner after the goal. Baylis came up with two stops following the third straight corner for Maryland to keep the game at a two-goal affair.

In the 57th minute, Maryland's Brooke DeBerdine found some space in the circle for an attempt that was hit in by Sabrina Rhodes, getting the road squad within one, 4-3.

The Terrapins pulled their goalie with 4:05 left and played with 11 field players until the end of regulation. With 15 seconds remaining, Linnea Gonzales hit the ball from outside the circle, but it was knocked around twice, last touched by Bibi Donraadt, before getting through.

Maryland produced the only shot in the first overtime off a corner before the second overtime game-winner. Nike Lorenz dribbled to the left and slapped the ball that was knocked off a defender and into the cage.

The No. 3 ranked Terrapins held a 19-7 shot advantage and 7-2 lead in corners. Maryland improved to 9-0 overall while Princeton fell to 5-3. The Tigers finish off a four-game homestand with the Ivy League opener against Dartmouth on Saturday. The game will get started at 12 p.m. and streamed on the ESPN+.
