EYE ON THE TIGERS
On a 16-game unbeaten streak the Tigers are ranked No. 5 in the nation poll, matching its highest ranking ever and best since 2005-06 season. Princeton is 12-2-4 overall and with a 10-0-2 ECAC Hockey mark the Tigers are in first place in the league standings. Junior Carly Bullock leads the offense with 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists and ranks sixth in the nation in scoring. Freshman Sarah Fillier is second in the nation in scoring with 26 points on 10 goals and 16 assists in 14 games. Classmate Maggie Connors is fourth among freshman scorers in the nation, averaging 1.00 points per game. Senior Karlie Lund and junior defender Claire Thompson both add 16 points, with Thompson ranked third in the nation among scoring defenders. Overall Princeton averaging 3.61 goals per game, fourth best scoring offense in the nation and is sixth in scoring defense, holding teams to 1.72 gpg. Sophomore Rachel McQuigge owns a 7-2-4 record and boasts a .932 save percentage and a 1.73 goals against average. The Tigers power-play unit ranks second in the nation as the squad has converted on 18 of 72 chances for 25 percent. The penalty kill is producing at a clip of 84 percent (63/75).
THE PRINCETON/CORNELL SERIES
Princeton holds a 46-37-5 advantage in the all-time series with Cornell. The teams played to a 2-2 draw back on November 17. The Tigers tallied two power-play goals in the first before Cornell got on the board in the second and evened the game on a short-handed goal in the third. McQuigge made 31 saves for the Tigers, Marlene Boissonneault had 27 saves for the Big Red.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell sits eight points back from Princeton in the standings with four games in hand with a 6-1-1 ECAC Hockey record. The team is ranked No. 4 in the nation at 8-1-5, its lone loss being a one-goal upset at the hands of Brown on Nov. 3. Last weekend the team skated to a 3-3 tie with Penn State, coming back from a two-goal deficit with two power-play goals. The power play is fourth in the nation at 23.1 percent (12/52) overall. Sophomore Madlynne Mills is the team's scoring leader with 18 points on eight goals and 10 assists. Junior Kristin O'Neill has a team-high 11 goals and three assists, while junior defender Jaime Bourbonnais chips in 13 points. Boissonneault has started in 12 of 14 games and has a .927 save percentage and a 1.63 GAA.
THE PRINCETON/COLGATE SERIES
Princeton captured a 6-0 shutout over Colgate back on Nov. 16 - the Tigers' first shutout of the Raiders since October 2010. Ten players picked up points in the game with Thompson and Sharon Frankel paving the way with three points apiece. McQuigge earned her first career shutout stopping all 33 shots, as shots fell 33-32. Overall the Tigers hold a 28-10-3 advantage in the all-time series with the Raiders.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters the weekend ranked No. 9 in the nation with an 11-6-3 overall record. With a 5-2-1 ECAC record the Raiders are currently fourth in the league standings. The squad has three 20+ point scorers led by senior Jessie Eldridge. She has 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points. Sophomore Malia Schneider has 11 goals and 12 assists and senior Shae Labbe has nine goals and 11 assists. Five other skaters are in double digits in scoring. Senior Julia Vandyk has started in 16 of 20 games and has a .914 save percentage and a 2.51 GAA. Colgate's power play is 10th in the nation at 20.2 percent (18/89) and the penalty kill is 19th at 84.6 percent (77/91).
