Connors Nets OT Game Winner for No. 4 Princeton

Freshman Maggie Connors scored with 3.2 seconds remaining in overtime to lift No. 4 Princeton to a 3-2 win over St. Lawrence on Friday night at Hobey Baker Rink.
The win extends the Tigers unbeaten streak to 20 and keeps the squad unbeaten in the ECAC and in first place with a 12-0-3 conference record.
Princeton dominated the overtime period but it looked as though the game would end in a draw but the Tigers were relentless. Sarah Fillier jarred the puck loose from the Saints inside the Princeton zone and banked it off the boards to Connors. Connors banked the puck again off the boards and around her defender as she skated the net and roofed the game-winning goal past Grace Harrison.
Connors had a two-goal evening, also scoring the first goal for Princeton, and has scored a goal in each of the last seven games.
Down 1-0 after Justine Reyes potted a rebound, the Princeton power play, ranked No. 1 in the nation at 27.9 percent, made quick work of its first power-play advantage.
Less than two minutes later senior Keiko DeClerck's first goal of the season pushed the Tigers into the lead.
The Saints were able to convert on the power play at 13:34 of the third and had momentum on their side before Fillier scored on an absolute snipe at 16:39.
On its next face off in the offensive zone, St. Lawrence pulled Harrison for the extra attacker. A redirect by Kayla Nielson with 1:21 remaining on the 6x5 brought the game back to a tie, at 3-3.
Steph Neatby earned the win in goal stopping 38 shots as she improves to 3-0-1 on the season.
Harrison made 27 saves in net for the Saints who fall to 12-12-3 overall and 7-6-2 in the ECAC.
It will be the 4-5 match up tomorrow as Princeton hosts Clarkson at Hobey Baker Rink at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
