Wilson '15 Named Assistant Coach at Cornell
July 10, 2019 | Men's Basketball
Joining the storied Princeton men's basketball coaching tree, Clay Wilson '15 has been named an assistant coach at Cornell, the school announced Wednesday.
At Cornell, Wilson will be working under another member of that coaching tree, head coach Brian Earl '99. Since graduating from Princeton, Wilson played professionally in Estonia, New Zealand and Germany, and he honed his coaching skills by co-founding a pair of basketball training programs in his home state of Oklahoma that have served hundreds of players.
While playing at Princeton, Wilson was a part of teams that won 74 games over his four seasons, and he was the 2015 winner of the program's Class of 1959 Bob Rock Sixth Man Award.
Wilson joins a list of current Division I head and assistant coaches who are Princeton alums, including Joe Scott '87 (Georgia, assistant), Chris Mooney '91 (Richmond, head coach), Mike Brennan '94 (American, head coach), Tigers coach Mitch Henderson '98, Earl, Scott Greenman '06 (American, assistant) and Marcus Schroeder '10 (Saint Mary's, assistant). Wilson played for both Henderson and then-assistant Earl during his Princeton career.
