No. 17 North Carolina Tops No. 12 Princeton to Start Road Weekend

Princeton's three national top-five wrestlers in Patrick Glory, Quincy Monday and Patrick Brucki all had wins for the 12th-ranked Tigers at No. 17 North Carolina Friday night, but the Tar Heels got the win, 25-11.
The match began a trip of two contests in two days against two top-20 teams for Princeton, which will head to No. 6 North Carolina State for a 1 p.m. start Saturday.
Princeton began with two wins in the first three bouts, with a decision from third-ranked Brucki at 197 and a technical fall from third-ranked Glory at 125. That allowed Princeton to take an 8-4 lead around a major decision loss at heavyweight, but North Carolina put together three wins in a row and took control of the match.
By the time fifth-ranked Quincy Monday won a decision at 157 over 20th-ranked A.C. Headlee, UNC's lead shrunk only to 17-11. Monday's brother, Kennedy Monday, followed with a decision at 165 for UNC to start a run of three consecutive decisions to end the match.
