Schwieger & Evbuomwan Earn Ivy League Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors

IVY LEAGUE RELEASE
PRINCETON, N.J. – Junior Ryan Schwieger and freshman Tosan Evbuomwan of the Princeton University men's basketball team were honored by the Ivy League Monday afternoon as Schwieger was named Player of the Week and Evbuomwan Rookie of the Week.
The duo helped Princeton defeat the University of Pennsylvania 63-58 on Friday, January 10 inside Jadwin Gymnasium and move to 2-0 in Ivy League play.
Schwieger went 6-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line as he led the Tigers in scoring with 16 points while also tying for the team-high in assists with four. His four made three-pointers tied his career-best, which occurred in the Tigers' win over Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
On the season Schwieger is averaging 13.6 points per game while shooting .516 from the field and .452 from beyond the arc along with 2.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Evbuomwan scored six points against the Quakers on 3-of-5 shooting while also pulling down four rebounds, handing out two assists along with recording one block and one steal. He is averaging 5.2 points per game and shooting .542 from the field along with 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
Schwieger's honor makes the second-consecutive week a Tiger has been named Ivy League Player of the Week, as last week sophomore Jaelin Llewellyn earned the accolade. Princeton has also now swept the men's basketball weekly awards twice in 2019-20; on Monday, November 17, 2019, senior Richmond Aririguzoh was named Player of the Week and freshman Ryan Langborg Rookie of the Week.
Schwieger, Evbuomwan and the Tigers will be in action next on Sunday, January 26 at 12 p.m. against Rutgers University-Camden (4-9, 1-6).
