Valentine, Fasttrack Invitationals up Next For Men's Track & Field

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's track & field team resumes its indoor season Saturday, sending student-athletes to both the Valentine Invitational and the Fasttrack Invitational.
The Tigers will compete at the Valentine Invitational inside the Track & Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University. Competition will begin starting with the field events at 10:30 a.m. Princeton will compete against a stacked field of talent featuring over 100 teams, 5,000 athletes and hundreds of post-collegiate athletes. Princeton will also compete at the Fasttrack Invitational, held on Friday, February 14 inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Tiger Notes
The Tigers are coming off their 28th-consecutive victory at the HYP Meet held in New Haven, Connecticut, finishing with 89 points to Yale's 63 and Harvard's 28.
Princeton has also delivered several of the best performances in the Ivy League this season. Sam Ellis' time of 2:22.26 seconds in the 1,000 meters from the HYP Meet tops the conference, while his time of 1:50.82 seconds in the 800 at the Columbia Challenge is second. Jeffrey Hollis' mark of 7'2.25" from the Navy dual in the high jump is also an Ivy League-best.
Simen Guttormsen's mark of 17'5'' in the pole vault achieved at the HYP Meet is an Ivy-best while C.J. Licata's throw of 62'3" in the shot put from the Princeton New Year's Invitational is the furthest in the conference this season.
In the 3,000, Conor Lundy finished in 8:09.05 seconds at the Columbia Challenge, which was the second-fastest time in the Ivy League so far this season. Lundy's time of 14:00.33 seconds in the 5,000, achieved at the BU Season Opener, also ranks second.
Christian Brown's time of 8.03 in the 60 hurdles at the Upstate Challenge is tied for second in the conference; the Tigers have also recorded the second and third best marks in the triple jump. Dayo Abeeb recorded a mark of 50'9.5" at the HYP Meet which is good for second and Austin Princewill's mark of 50'2.5" from the Crimson Elite Meet is third. Kelton Chastulik is also sitting third in the shot put thanks to his mark of 56'6" at the Princeton New Year's Invitational.
