PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team fell to Yale University Friday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium in a contest that saw freshman Tosan Evbuomwan finish with a career-high 11 points.
Along with Evbuomwan's career and game-high 11, junior Jerome Desrosiers and sophomore Drew Friberg each added eight points for the Tigers. Senior Richmond Aririguzoh and sophomore Ethan Wright led the Tigers in rebounding with four each.
Evbuomwan started off hot for the Tigers; he scored on driving layups with 19:33, 18:48 and 14:48 on the clock but the Bulldogs led 12-8.
Princeton drained back-to-back three pointers courtesy of junior Jerome Desrosiers 12:09 left in the half and Schwieger with 11:39 on the clock, but Yale still held a 22-17 advantage.
Evbuomwan continued to be a problem for Yale's defenders, bringing his total to eight points on another layup with 8:24 remaining in the half.
Despite a driving layup by Wright with 0:41 left in the half, the Bulldogs closed the half out on a high note and took a 43-25 advantage into halftime.
Princeton look to battle back in the second half; Wright would finish through a foul with 15:57 remaining and Friberg would drain a three-pointer with 14:26 left to play, but the Bulldogs still held 57-33 advantage.
With 13:00 on the clock, senior Jose Morales found junior Elijah Barnes in full stride who proceeded to throw it down with two hands and make it a 57-35 contest as Princeton looked to trim Yale's lead.
Evbuoman brought his total to 11 points with a corner triple with 10:12 on the clock, but the Bulldogs managed to hold onto their advantage, 68-41.
The Tigers attempted to chip away at Yale's lead, but the Bulldogs held on for the 88-64 triumph.
