Six Princeton Rowers to Participate At 2020 European U-23 Rowing Championships This Weekend

This weekend, the Shea Rowing Center will have six rowers taking part in the 2020 European Rowing U-23 Championships in Duisburg, Germany.
Greta Jaanson '23 (Estonia) W1X (Open Rowing), Jelmer Bennema '23 (Netherlands) M8+ (Heavyweights), Floyd Benedikter '23 (Germany) 8+ (Heavyweights) and Anne du Croo de Jongh '25 (Netherlands) W2- (Open Rowing), Eoin Gaffney '23 (Ireland) LM4X (Men's Lightweights), David van Velden '25 (Netherlands) LM2x (Men's Lightweights) will be representing Princeton this weekend.
This will be the first "water" competition for the 2020 international rowing season according to WorldRowing.com following the postponement of all major rowing events in 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The European Rowing U-23 Championships is raced in 22 boat classes and is open to all European Member National Federations (which includes Israel) for athletes under the age of 23. A rower may compete in an U-23 rowing event until Dec. 31 of the year in which he/she reaches the age of 22.
