Men's Cross Country Finishes Third At Paul Short Run

Princeton placed all five of its scorers inside the Top-21 at the Paul Short Run, claiming third place as a team with 74 points. The Tigers went 11-12-13-17-21, settling in behind North Carolina (56 points) and Villanova (57 points) in the team standings.
Kevin Berry led the Tigers, crossing the finish line 11th in a time of 23:43.5 over the 8K course. Anthony Monte (23.47.1) and Joshua Zelek (23:47.4) were right behind in the next three finishing positions. Nicholas Bendsten (23:49.5) was next in 17th while Jakob Kintzele was the fifth scorer for the Tigers in 21st with a time of 23:53.1. Connor Nisbet was just outside the scoring group in 22nd place, 0.3 seconds behind Kintzele. Matt Grossman was 31st as all seven Tigers entered finished in the Top-31, crossing the line in 23:59.1
"It was a good morning for the group," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "It's all about the process right now and we're making strides towards where we want to be. We're looking forward to taking the next step when we visit Goodman again for Regionals in November."
In addition to the Tigers competing in the College meet, a group of Princeton runners entered the Open race. 2020 Olympian Ed Trippas won that race in a time of 24:30.5, while Sam Ellis took fifth in 24:41.6. Nate Tavakolian (24:47.9) was ninth and Jack Stanley (24:50.7) was tenth. Fahd Nasser gave Princeton another Top-15 finish in the Open race, finishing 14th in a time of 24:55.3.
Princeton is off next weekend before heading to Florida State for Pre-Nationals on October 15 and hosting the Princeton Invitational on October 16.
