Formerly the National Women's Hockey League, the Premier Hockey Federation rebranded in September.
Among those on the Riveters' training camp roster is a familiar face in All-Ivy honoree Rose Alleva '14, who joins the Riveters after playing previously with the Minnesota Whitecaps. Another familiar face, at least for one of the Tigers, is Allie Olnowich, a Syracuse alum and sister of Tiger rookie netminder Jennifer Olnowich.
Last they played, the Tigers won the 2020 ECAC Tournament title, knocking off then-No. 1 Cornell in the final on a Mariah Keopple overtime goal. Keopple is back, but the Tigers will have to overcome graduation losses including Carly Bullock '20, a 30-goal scorer as a senior, All-ECAC pick Claire Thompson '20 on defense, and netminder Stephanie Neatby '20, who accounted for more than half of the team's minutes in goal. In addition to that, with Thompson in Canada's Olympic centralization camp is Sarah Fillier, who is already more than halfway to Princeton's career records for assists and points, just two years into her Princeton career.
Even with those losses and absences, Princeton returns 10 players who scored a goal in the 2019-20 season, led by 22-goal scorer junior Maggie Connors. In goal, senior Rachel McQuigge played a third of the team's minutes in that season on the way to a 1.51 GAA, and junior Cassie Reale played 180 minutes with a 1.00 GAA.
