Women's Hockey Collects 3-2 Win Over Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Princeton scored twice over a 42-second span of the second period to take down the Brown Bears, 3-2, at Meehan Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers scored just 39 seconds into the contest as Dominique Cormier secured her first collegiate goal. Brown had two power plays in the frame, but Rachel McQuigge had eight of her 23 stops in the first 20 minutes of action.
One night after registering her 50th career goal, Maggie Connors secured her 51st tally on the power play at the 6:15 mark of the second stanza. Mia Coene tacked on another one 42 seconds after for the first goal of her career.
Brown got one back at the 13:04 point of the period on a power play goal from Lizzy Gross. The Bears climbed within one with 1:36 left in the game as Shay Maloney scored on the power play and with an extra attacker. The Tigers closed out the rest of the contest to pick up the weekend sweep.
Mariah Keopple led the Tigers with two assists. She was plus two with Shannon Griffin in the win.
Princeton welcomes RPI (Nov. 5, 6 p.m.) and Union (Nov. 6, 3 p.m.) to Hobey Baker Rink next weekend.
