Home-Opening Weekend Ahead for No. 10 Princeton

Following a 2-0 weekend to open the season at Yale and Brown in the final weekend of October, the Princeton women's hockey team returned to the USA Hockey/USA Today top-10 poll at No. 10. This weekend, the Tigers return home for their first regular-season home games of the year, hosting RPI and Union.

Junior Maggie Connors scored three of the team's five goals on the weekend, pushing her career total past 50 goals to enter the weekend with 51. Connors is also seven points away from 100 for her career. Each of the team's other two goals on the opening weekend came from freshmen, in Dominique Cormier and Mia Coene. Senior Rachel McQuigge backstopped the Tigers in both games, getting a shutout against Yale.
On Rensselaer: RPI is 4-6 overall and 2-2 in ECAC Hockey. Following an 0-4 start against Mercyhurst and Vermont, RPI won four straight against Union, Boston University and No. 9 Providence before being swept last weekend by Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Marah Wagner and Audrey McCutcheon co-lead 11 RPI goal scorers with four apiece, and Amanda Rampado has played every minute in goal, accruing a 1.91 GAA.
On Union: Union is 2-8-1 overall and 0-4 in the league. Both wins came on the season-opening weekend against RIT. Celeste Beaudoin, Maren Friday, Emily King anad Grace Heiting co-lead eight Union goal scorers with three goals apiece. Olivia Rinzel has played about 80 percent of the team's minutes in goal and has a 3.07 GAA.
On the series: Princeton has won the last two overall against RPI. The Engineers' last win in the series and last win in Princeton came on Feb. 16, 2019 by a 2-1 final. Princeton holds a 12-game win streak against Union overall and is 16-0 all-time against the Dutchwomen at home. Union's last win over Princeton came on Jan. 10, 2014.
Up next: Princeton will have a split weekend ahead, hosting current No. 8 Quinnipiac on Friday, Nov. 12 before heading to Quinnipiac for the back half of the home-and-home on Saturday, Nov. 13.
