PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball will play its final game of 2021 on Tuesday, December 21, at 7 p.m. inside Jadwin Gymnasium when it hosts Kean University.

Last Time Out
With help from three double digit scorers and an enormous spark off the bench from senior Elijah Barnes, the Princeton University men's basketball team defeated the University of Maryland, Baltimore County 89-77, on Monday, December 11, inside Jadwin Gymnasium.

Senior Jaelin Llewellyn led all scorers with 24 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field, while senior Ethan Wright recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting, along with a game-high 13 rebounds. Junior Tosan Evbuomwan added 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting, a game-high seven assists, and five rebounds. In 13 minutes, Barnes went 4-for-4 from the field for nine points, two rebounds and one block.

As a team, the Tigers shot 35-for-68 from the field, good for 51.5%. Princeton also took care of the ball, recording a season-low six turnovers to UMBC's 13.

Through 12 Games
As a team, Princeton ranks eighth in the nation in three-pointers with 355, and 11^th in the nation in three-point field goals per game with 11.0, while leading the Ivy League in both categories. The Tigers also rank 33^rd in the nation in field goal percentage (48.28%), and their 365 made field goals are an Ivy League high.

Evbuomwan leads the Ivy League in assists and ranks 11^th in the nation with 5.5 per game, and his 55.5% field goal percentage is also a conference-best. He also ranks second in assist/turnover ratio (2.5), and eighth in scoring with a 13.9 points per game average.

Wright's 8.2 rebounds per game rank second in the Ivy League, and he also ranks sixth in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game.

Llewellyn ranks fourth in the Ivy League scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game. His 2.8 assists per game also rank seventh in the conference.

Junior Ryan Langborg's 44.0% mark from behind the three-point line. Langborg also ranks fifth in the conference in three-point field goals per game, with 3.8.

Last Time They Met
The Tigers and Cougars last met on January 26, 2014, inside Jadwin Gymnasium. The Tigers came out on top, 84-54.

Player of the Week
On Monday, December 20, Wright was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time in 2021-22. He also earned the honor on Monday, November 22, 2021, and Llewellyn earned the conference's top honor on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Tiger Assistant Coach Jonathan Jones is a 2011 graduate of Kean. He was a 2011 first-team Division III All-America unanimous honoree, runner-up for Division III National Player of the Year, the NJAC Player of the Year, NJAC Male Athlete of the Year, a D3hoops.com first-team All-America, a D3 News first-team All-America, the D3hoops.com Atlantic Region Player of the Year, D3hoops.com first-team all-region, NABC Atlantic Region Player of the Year, first-team NABC Atlantic Region, first-team All-NJAC, ECAC Metro Region Player of the Year, and first-team All-ECAC Metro Region. A Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd honoree, Jones achieved 24 double-doubles, leading Division III in that statistic while finishing second in D-III with 13.7 rebounds per game and eighth in D-III with 23.9 points per game while helping Kean to an 18-8 record and an NJAC South Division title under coach Rob Kurzinsky.

Teddy Bear Toss

Princeton Athletics is encouraging fans to bring new or lightly used stuffed animals. The third annual Teddy Bear Toss will occur at halftime. Fans will be able to toss their stuffed animal on the court. All donations will be given to the RWJBarnabas Hospital system.

Scouting Kean
The Cougars are 8-3 on the season, and 2-3 in NJAC play. Most recently, Keane overcame Immaculata, 79-66, on Tuesday, December 14, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

Letrell West leads Keane in scoring with 19.1 points per game, rebounds with 5.2 per game, and blocks with 0.8 per game. Jailen Jamison averages a team-high 4.9 points per game, and also leads the team in steals with 1.9 per game.
