Men’s Basketball Ends 2021 on High Note, Downs Kean 100-59

PRINCETON, N.J. – It was season-highs across the board Tuesday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium, as the Princeton University men's basketball team wrapped up play for 2021 with a 100-59 win over Kean University.
The victory moved Princeton to 10-3, its best start since the 2013-14 season.
The Tigers' 100 points was a season-high, as was their made field goals (39), field goal percentage (62.9%), rebounds for a game that ended in regulation (42), and assists (27). The Tigers 15 made three-pointers and 51.7% mark from deep tied the program's season-high in both categories. and Princeton also scored 100 points in a game that ended in regulation for the first time since its 108-46 victory over Rowan College on Friday, November 25, 2016.
Five Tigers finished in double figures, with seniors Ethan Wright and Max Johns tying for the team-high in points with 13 each. Wright shot 4-for-5 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the three, while Johns went 4-for-5 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc on route to his career-high 13 points. Senior Jaelin Llewellyn added 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting and 2-for-3 shooting from long range, while junior Keeshawn Kellman shot 5-for-6 from the field to add 10 points along with a game-high seven rebounds. Freshman Mason Hooks was perfect from the field, going 5-for-5 and scoring 10 points. Junior Ryan Langborg also added a game and career-high five assists.
The Tigers opened the game with back-to-back baskets from Kellman and Langborg, taking a 4-0 lead with 18:06 left to play. The Cougars battled back to take a 9-6 lead with 15:32 on the clock. A layup by Langborg at 15:21 followed by a three-pointer by sophomore Matt Allocco saw the Tigers take an 11-9 lead.
A Johns three-pointer with 9:08 on the clock sparked a 14-0 Tiger run, that saw Princeton surge ahead, 37-20, with 7:12 remaining in the half following a long-three-pointer by Wright. A senior Drew Friberg jumper with 3:42 remaining in the half led off a 9-0 Tiger run, that put Princeton ahead 53-26 at 1:41 after a pair of Allocco free throws. Princeton then took a 55-30 advantage into the half.

Kellman's layup with 19:39 on the clock sparked a 10-0 Princeton run, that saw the Tigers gain a 65-32 advantage at 18:10 after a powerful one-handed dunk by Kellman. Kean would go on an 8-0 run and make it a 76-46 contest with 13:44 left to play, but a deep three by freshman Blake Peters at 13:39 halted the Cougars' momentum and gave Princeton a 79-46 lead.7:12 1st | Princeton 37, Kean 20

Sophomore Zach Martini laid the ball in with 10:28 left to play, leading off a 6-0 run that had the Tigers ahead 88-49 with 8:13 on the clock after a Kellman layup. The Tigers scored their 100th point on a Martini layup with 1:27 remaining, and held on for the 100-59 victory.18:10 2nd | Princeton 65, Kean 32
