Women's Open Rowing Defeats Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Princeton women's open rowing unit defeated Drexel in all three races this afternoon on the Schuylkill River.
The Tigers' 1V boat beat Drexel by 14.1 seconds while the Princeton lightweight boat placed second. In the 2V race, Princeton won against the Dragons' two boats by 12.7 and 48 seconds. In the V4 event, the Tigers easily disposed of the two Drexel boats by over 23 seconds.
"The first race of the season was fantastic," said head coach Lori Dauphiny. "To see all the boats racing down the course was awesome. All three boats performed well today. We have areas to work on, but the fact the team was racing made everyone happy. Many thanks to Drexel for hosting and the team around the team for getting us back on the starting line."
Princeton gets back at it next Sunday (May 2) where it will battle Rutgers and Syracuse on Mercer Lake along with a contest vs. Temple on Lake Carnegie.
