Live Results/Timing
The 2021 men's cross country season opens on Friday as Princeton heads to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Lehigh Invitational. The Tigers wil take to the starting line at 6:15 p.m.
Ahead of the season, Princeton garnered some preseason attention from the USTFCCCA's Regional Rankings as the Tigers slotted in at No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Villanova (No. 1) and Georgetown (No. 2) sit ahead of the Tigers, while Penn (No. 4) and Penn State (No. 5) are up next.
"It's good to be back in the mix," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "Our group is ready to compete this weekend, and represent our University. We've stuck together as a team through everything and there's no doubt that our group is ready for the challenge this season. We are appreciative of seeing our name in the preseason regional rankings, but what I love most about our team is that we're able to quickly set that aside and prepare for the task at hand. We know our goals and we'll put ourselves in the best position possible to find the success we want in November."
When the Tigers do get to November, they'll do so at the course they open the season on this weekend. In addition to a second visit to Goodman for the Paul Short, Princeton will run this course for the Mid-Atlantic Regional on November 12.
"It's perfect that we'll have one big moment -- our season debut -- where we hope to have more later in the season at Regionals," Vigilante said. "We will have plenty of opportunities to familiarize ourselves with this course and develop our strategies ahead of the NCAA meet. We absolutely want to get off on the right foot this weekend, but any prep we can do for November is paramount."
