Jaelin Llewellyn Named to Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watchlist

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Jaelin Llewellyn of the Princeton University men's basketball team was named to the Mid-Season Watch List for the 2021-22 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Wednesday afternoon.
The award honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons, and is awarded annually to the top mid-major player in division I college basketball. Players on teams from the following conferences are eligible for the award: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.
Honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday, November 15, and named to the Asheville Championship All-Tournament Team, Llewellyn leads the Tigers and is ranked fourth in the Ivy League in points per game (16.2), third in field goal percentage (47.3), and tenth in three-point field goals per game (2.3). Against the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on Tuesday, December 13, Llewellyn scored a season-high 24 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field in an 89-77 Tiger victory.
The Tigers are 12-3 overall on the season, and 2-0 in Ivy League play. Princeton is in action next on Saturday, January 15 at 2 p.m. against Brown University (9-9, 1-2) inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
