St. Lawrence scored a pair of first-period goals and held off the Princeton women's hockey team before adding two in the third period in a 4-1 win on Tuesday night at Baker Rink.

The Saints got a Skylar Podvey goal three minutes into the game when Podvey threaded one through the slot, and with less than five minutes to go in the period, Jessica Poirier intercepted a pass and sent it back toward goal to double the lead.

Princeton pulled within one with two minutes to go in the opening period when Mariah Keopple had her first of the season, sending one along the goal line that found its way through to make it 2-1.

Despite Princeton outshooting St. Lawrence 47-40 overall and 28-21 on goal, the Saints held off Princeton's comeback try. Rachel Teslak and Brittney Gout scored 54 seconds apart before the midway point of the third period to push the lead to the eventual final of 4-1.

Princeton will host Harvard on Friday at 6 p.m. at Baker Rink as ECAC Hockey play continues.
