The Ivy League season reaches its midpoint this weekend as Princeton heads to Columbia for the fourth game in the seven-game run.

Youthful scorers: Seven of Princeton's eight scorers, accounting for 17 of the 18 goals the team has scored this season, have come from non-seniors, able to come back for the 2023 season. Fourteen of the 18 have come from freshmen or sophomores, led by rookie Pietra Tordin (seven) and sophomore Heather MacNab (five). If Tordin finishes as Princeton's goals leader, she'd become the first freshman since Tyler Lussi '17 in 2013 to lead the team in goals scored.
The series vs. Columbia: Princeton leads the all-time series with the Lions 23-8-5. Princeton won last season's meeting 1-0 with a double-overtime goal from Lexi Hiltunen and is unbeaten in its last three against the Lions (2-0-1). Princeton won the last trip to New York, in 2018, but the Lions won the one before that, in 2016. Among current players who have scored or played in goal in previous meetings, Columbia's Shira Cohen had the goal and Liz Matei was between the posts for the 1-1 tie in Princeton in 2019, and along with Hiltunen scoring the goal for Princeton in 2021, Paige Nurkin was in goal for Columbia in that game.Â
From the start: Of the 17 goals Princeton has allowed, 14 have come in the first half. Six of those 17 goals have come in the first 10 minutes of the game, and Princeton is 1-4 when allowing a goal in the first 10 minutes. Princeton has outshot opponents overall 10 times in 12 games and has outshot the opponent nine times in 12 games with one game even in shots on goal. On the season, Princeton has outshot opponents 216-97 overall and 88-50 on goal.
Coach: Sean Driscoll is 81-29-11 in seven competitive seasons (including 2022) at Princeton, winning Ivy League Coach of the Year honors three times, one in each of the team's Ivy title-winning seasons during his tenure (2015, 2017, 2018). He has helped guide the team to four NCAA tournaments (2015, 2017, 2018, 2021), advancing out of the first round three times (2015, 2017, 2021) and to the quarterfinals in 2017. He's Princeton's second-winningest coach, behind predecessor Julie Shackford, who won 2013 games in 20 seasons from 1995 through 2014.Â
Ivy weekly honors: Princeton has earned a total of five Ivy weekly honors this season, with three Rookies and two Players. Pietra Tordin accounts for two of the Rookie (Sept. 19, Oct. 3) and one of the Player (Oct. 3) honors, Kelsee Wozniak has a Rookie honor (Aug. 29), and Heather MacNab has a Player honor (Aug. 29).
