Cornell Rallies Past Princeton in Road Finale
October 29, 2022 | Women's Soccer
Pietra Tordin had her team-best eighth goal of the season in the 10th minute of the game Saturday at Cornell, but the Big Red had it tied by halftime and took the lead after the break to deal Princeton a 2-1 defeat.
Tordin continued toward becoming the first rookie since 2013 to end the season leading the team in goals scored.Â
Cornell's Laken Gallman tied it in the 23rd minute, and though Princeton outshot Cornell 17-14 overall and 6-3 on goal on the day, the Big Red's Reagan Pauwels put Cornell in the lead for good in the 50th minute.
On the play that resulted in Tordin's goal, Heather MacNab threaded a centering pass from near the sideline to Lily Bryant, who found a sprinting Tordin splitting two defenders with minimal touches for a finish from about 10 yards out.
Â
Princeton will wrap the 2022 season next Saturday when it hosts Penn at 1 p.m. at Roberts Stadium. The program will honor its six seniors in Ella Gantman, Marissa Hart, Gracyn Kuerner, Kamryn Loustau, Grace Sherman and Morgan Wiese.
