Women's Squash Defeats Stanford in Season Opener

Washington D.C. - No. 5 Princeton women's squash opened up the 2022-23 season on a high note, defeating Stanford 8-1 at Squash on Fire.
The Tigers' victory in D.C. was a total, team effort, with several sweeps contributing to the Princeton win.
Players from positions 5 to 9, (Olivia Robinson, Katherine Glaser, Charlotte Bell, Katherine Sapinski, and Abigail Schuster), all defeated their Stanford opponents 3-0.
Abigail Schuster and Katherine Sapinski let up only four points in the match. Schuester totally dominated her second game of the day, scoring 11 straight points to outscore her opponent 11-0.
Andrea Toth and Liyen Teoh both played five games in today's match to defeat their opponents in two, hard fought wins. Tied at 2-2, Toth was able to defeat Miriam Cheng in the number 2 position in her final game 11-8 to claim the win.
Similarly, Teoh managed to defeat Khushi Kukadia in her fifth game 11-6 after a back and forth battle in the number 3 position.
Notably, three first-year Tigers made their collegiate squash debuts and claimed their first Princeton victories competing in today's match. Liyen Teoh in the number 3 position 3 (3-2), Charlotte Bell in the number 7 position (3-0), and Abigail Schuster in the number 9 position (3-0).
The only Stanford victory came from the number 1 position, with Si Ma defeating Molly Chadwick 3-0.

Princeton will return to play to take on Ivy League opponent, Columbia, in New York on Friday, January 13th. Princeton will host its home opener against Cornell on Sunday, January 15th.
