
No. 4 Women’s Squash Set for a Pair of Ivy League Matches

Princeton N. J. – The No. 4 Princeton Women's Squash team is set to take on two, Ivy League opponents this week for the Tigers' first matches of the new year.
Princeton will travel to New York to take on No. 8 Columbia on Friday and will then return to action back in Jadwin Gymnasium on Sunday for the Tigers' home opener against No. 6 Cornell.
Princeton will take on the Lions coming off an 8-1 victory over Stanford back in November. The Tigers hope to ignite a winning streak on Friday to kick off 2023.
No. 8 Columbia
The Lions currently hold a 1-2 record, with both losses to Top-10 programs. Last year, Princeton defeated the Lions 5-4, which extended the team's win streak against Columbia to 12 matches since their first meeting between in the 2010-11 season.
Friday will be both Princeton's and Columbia's first match against an Ivy League opponent in 2023.
No. 6 Cornell
Cornell has yet to lose a match this season, maintaining a 4-0 record for 2022-23. Like Princeton, The Big Red's last match was played in November, in which the team beat #13 William Smith College 9-0. In 2022, Princeton defeated Cornell, 7-2.
Out of the 7 scorers from last season's match, five return on this year's roster to take on the Big Red at home.
The Tigers will match up against the Lions at at 2:00 p.m. at the SL Green StreetSquash Center on Friday and then face Cornell at 12:00 p.m. in Jadwin Gymnasium.
