Men's Basketball Wins Fifth-Straight, Dispatches Cairn 92-58

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team won its fifth-straight game Wednesday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium, dispatching Cairn 92-58 in a contest that saw all 15 players who dress score at least two points.

The Tigers were led by freshman Jack Scott, who tied the game-high in points with 13 on 5-for-8 shooting and also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and handed out a game-high four assists. Sophomore Blake Peters also scored in double digits for the Tigers, shooting 4-for-7 from three and scoring 12 points. Junior Zach Martini appeared in his first game of the season and added eight points on 3-for-6 shooting, along with four rebounds.

Ignited by a junior Matt Allocco layup with 19:16 on the clock, the Tigers opened the game with a 17-0 run. Playing in his first game of the season, junior Zach Martini knocked a three-pointer from the left wing with 14:52 left in the half to give the Tigers a 17-0 advantage.
The Tigers extended their lead to 22 after Scott sank a three-pointer from the top of the circle at 12:41, making it a 26-4 contest. The Highlanders used a 7-0 run to narrow the deficit to 15, 26-11, with 11:33 remaining in the half.

With 10:14 on the clock, a pair of free throws by freshman Deven Austin sparked a 9-0 run, that saw the Tigers take a 35-11 lead with 6:44 left in the half after a pair of Scott free throws. The Tigers maintained their advantage for the remainder of the half, taking a 51-22 lead into halftime.

Princeton opened the second half with a 5-0 run, taking a 56-22 lead with 17:58 left to play after a layup by Scott. A three-pointer by Peters put the Tigers up by 37, 64-27, with 14:38 remaining, then another Peters three-pointer gave Princeton a 77-43 advantage at 9:54.
