PRINCETON, N.J. – On the heels of winning the 2022 London Basketball Classic, the Princeton University men's basketball team return to Jadwin Gymnasium to host Cairn on Wednesday, November 30, at 7:00 p.m., before it takes on Drexel inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Saturday, December 3, at 2:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Tigers became the 2022 London Basketball Classic Champions after rallying with a 12-0 run in the second half to defeat Northeastern Saturday night inside Copper Box Arena, 56-54.
Senior Ryan Langborg led the Tigers with 17 points on 6-for-11 shooting along with six rebounds, a career-high five steals, a career-high three blocks and two assists. Senior Tosan Evbuomwan, the tournament MVP playing in his native England for the first time at the college level, added 13 points, while senior Keeshawn Kellman finished with seven points, a career-high 10 rebounds along with a career-high three blocks.
The Tigers also received a boost off the bench from freshman Xaivian Lee, who had 12 points on 3-for-6 shooting from the field along with 5-for-6 shooting from the free throw line.
There's No Place Like Home
Named MVP of the London Basketball Classic, Evbuomwan averaged 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, while also handing out five assists in the Tigers' wins over Army and Northeastern.
Langborg Steps Up
Langborg tied with Evbuomwan as the co-leading scorer for the Tigers at the London Basketball Classic as he also averaged 13.5 points, along with 4.0 rebounds. He also recorded five steals, four blocks and three assists.
Freshmen Contributions
Honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, November 28, Lee gave the Tigers a significant spark off the bench at the London Basketball Classic, ending the tournament as the Tigers second-leading scorer. He averaged 10.5 points on 50.0% shooting from three, 45.5% shooting from the field and 80.0% shooting from three.
Caden Pierce was Princeton's leading rebounder at the London Basketball Classic, finishing with 18 total and averaging 9.0 per game.
Scouting Cairn
The Tigers face Cairn for the first time in program history. The Highlanders are 4-2 on the season, and took down Pratt Institute, 74-62, in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday, November 28, in their last game.
Scouting Drexel
The Dragons are 3-4 on the season, and fell 73-61 at Temple in their most recent game on Sunday, November 27. Prior to taking on the Tigers, the Dragons host Lafayette (1-6) on Wednesday, November 30, at 7:00 p.m. inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
