No. 20 Men’s Track and Field with Record Setting Day at the Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Princeton University men's track and field team dominated day one of the Virginia Challenge, as Ibrahim Ayorinde set an Ivy League in the 100 meters and Kevin Berry recorded a new program record in the 5000 meters.
Ibrahim Ayorinde recorded a time of 10.22 seconds in the 100 meters, surpassing Doug Harris' time of 10.29 set in 19.83. Also competing in the event was Daniel Duncan, whose time of 10.27 places him second all-time in school history.
Kevin Berry set a new program record in the 5000 meters, turning in a time of 13:37.21. Berry eclipses Joe Stilin's time of 13:38.36 set at Mt. Sac in 2012.
Also competing in the 5000-meter invite was Daniel O'Brien (13:56.70), Matt Grossman (13:57.49), Josh Zelek (13:58.14), Nicholas Bendtsen (14:06.99) and Anthony Monte (14:21.21).
Andersen Dimon secured second place in the 400 meters with a time of 47.00, moving him into ninth all-time in school history. Meanwhile, William Doyle (47.32) took fifth and Ladislav Topfer (47.55) was seventh.
Three Tigers placed in the 1500-meter invite, including Sam Ellis (3:43.70) in 17th, Duncan Miller (3:43.78) in 18th and Harrison Witt (3:45.84) in 20th.
In the 5000 meters, Connor Nisbet (14:31.63) took 14th.
Aviram Shwarzbard earned second place in the long jump with a leap of 7.85m (25-9.25), landing him fourth all-time in school history.
In the javelin throw, Chandler Ault (68.53 m) took fifth and Zach Jaramillo (58.32m) was 17th.
Will Drury placed eighth with a distance of 4.96 meters in the pole vault invite.
C.J. Licata placed eighth with a toss of 55.14 meters in the discus invite.
In the discus, Tyler Konopka (46.12 m) and Avery Shunneson (45.54 m) finished 17th and 18th respectively.
In the hammer throw on Thursday night, William Cauley (58.66 m) placed 11th and Paul Brennan (57.47 m) finished 13th.
